Doctor (PhD) Valentina Vardanyan has been the Co-Founder and Chief Physician of Varus Med Medical Center since 2025. She was born in Yerevan and graduated with honors from Yerevan State Medical University in 2003. After graduation, she entered a clinical residency in Clinical Pharmacology. Upon completing it, she decided to change her narrow specialization and was successfully admitted to and completed another clinical residency in Rheumatology. Since 2005, she worked at Yerevan State Medical University and its university clinics. Until 2025, she held the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Rheumatology of YSMU and Head of the Rheumatology Department at the Mikaelyan Institute of Surgery.

Dr. Vardanyan is the author and co-author of more than 40 published scientific papers. In 2012, she defended her PhD thesis, which focused on identifying factors associated with the efficacy and toxicity of methotrexate in systemic connective tissue diseases and Familial Mediterranean Fever. She has served as Principal Investigator in two multicenter international clinical trials and as Scientific Coordinator in two other such studies. She has participated in more than 30 international congresses, seminars, and training programs. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, EMEUNET (The Emerging EULAR Network), the Armenian Association of Rheumatologists, and the Armenian Osteoporosis Association.
